The inspiration for this painting came from a West African sculpture the figure is kneeling and submitting itself to a greater cause. Africa is ascending in the background symbolising the upward elevation of African people in the continent and across the diaspora.

This approach will support African, Caribbean people to rise up from the oppressions of alienation, micro aggression, marginalisation and social deprivation in a calm, liberating environment.

Our motto is to use educational arts as an informed process to prevent the unwanted ideas, beliefs and notions that “I hate myself” and “I don’t belong.”
These harmful words are the major contributing factors that damages the very essence of our vitality, health and wellbeing. That is why we uplift families to embody the true understanding of knowing who you are.

There are moments when we feel down or upset and we experience a genuine strong desire to lash out or isolate ourselves from each other. We know life can seem annoying, spiteful and unpleasant, however it is not helpful to stay silent and avoid the situation.
We empower people with personal experiences of sadness, fear, anger or worry to identify how these harmful negative responses, effects our relationships with our families, friends and loved ones.
Therapeutic Arts will inspire you to identify that life is not all bad because we have the ability to resolve stressful life challenges and difficult situations in a positive, calm, healthy manner.

An Enlightening Poem ‘LIT’ Written By Maureen W
Flicking through the brown crisp ends of life's pages,
Travelling on a poorly lit road for ages.
My soles memorised the varied textured pathways.
Tarred, rocky, potholed, valley deep and mount raised.
My feet knows all the corners and the edges,
As many a time they balanced on what felt like minute ledges.
Whilst my hands surveyed a landscape within its reach,
Deciphering secrets for my experience to teach.
As if with blind eyes I study my terrain,
Only to be fumbling around in vain.
This walk has not been easy, had my highs and lows,
As underneath many a rubble I've had to nose.
Though scared at times, I've had to boldly go,
With an enlightened steer and my self investment to grow.
Suddenly a faint light flickers with added zest.
Floods my darkened state with streams of brightness.
Eradicating those fear driven butt clenches,
The debilitating blindsight and limited senses.
Making me powerless and full of indecision.
But now deep entrenched stuff are being uttered,
And my life's path is being decluttered.
All laid bare, with the spotlight nearer,
And my true potential appears ever clearer.
That groomed my thoughts, corrupting my vision.
The taste of freedom is now on my lips,
I want to devour it whole, don't want to sip.
For it's been long awaited, I've been starved,
Eating from a plate where my rations were halved.
I am beginning to gorge on this hefty feast.
Of delights that this new journey has unleashed.
I believe in me, I know I belong Because
Enlightened Creations have taught me a new song.
