The Communal Family Village is a neurodiverse autism and ADHD Caribbean and African community service.

The Family Village was set up in July 2022 with the aid of The Community Lottery Fund. Our year-long Caribbean and African service provided drama therapy, The Four Enlightening Creations and well-being sessions in the Birmingham and Sandwell Autistic community.

We are currently offering private neurodiverse Autism and ADHD, healing arts, The Four Enlightening Creations, interactive story making, and wellness parents, grandparents, guardians and carers groups.

What The Village Says

“Having the ability to work through the booklets enabled me to become aware that I was not alone.

We connected through our experiences and it was ok to be honest and true to ourselves that we are important too!.”

A parent’s therapeutic experience

“This service has a genuine heart felt passion to ensure the wellbeing of its community and to put that into practical ways to ignite and value a progressive change.”‍ ‍

A carer’s therapeutic experience.

An enlightened Parent

“It was very hopeful that we are able to meet our own needs when we intentionally work together with sincere commitment and determination.”

“I found the parent group a refreshing experience, being able to share the experiences of supporting and understanding the view of my autistic daughter and the lack of community aid that exists to help in these situations.

An enlightened Parent

The event was successful for it enable us to reflect on the awareness of the lack of representation as a whole for Melanated people but even more when living with Autism. We were able to make suggestions on how we could effect this change and what would it look like.”
