Empowering Autistic Families

Creating A Difference

The communal family village truly is because of you.

Be the voice of the Family

Peace and many blessings everyone,

The Communal Family Village is an autism service for autistic African, Caribbean children young people, adults, parents and carers.

We are truly thankful to the Community Lottery Fund for giving us this wonderful opportunity to launch our autism services in July 2022. The year long funding gifted free culturally competent drama and dance movement therapy, healing arts and the four enlightening creations to Autistic African, Caribbean families in the Birmingham and Sandwell Boroughs.

We are sincerely striving to keep The Community Family Village autism services alive. Thus we are currently offering private Drama therapy and therapeutic arts across Birmingham until we have secured new funding for individual or community group workshops, and therapeutic sessions.

An enlightened Parent

“It was very hopeful that we are able to meet our own needs when we intentionally work together with sincere commitment and determination.”

I found the parent group a refreshing experience, being able to share the experiences of supporting and understanding the view of my autistic daughter and the lack of community aid that exists to help in these situations.

An enlightened Parent

The event was successful for it enable us to reflect on the awareness of the lack of representation as a whole for Melanated people but even more when living with Autism. We were able to make suggestions on how we could effect this change and what would it look like.”
